Ramen was tasty but just a tad bit on the salty side. But the shoyu ramen was very flavorful and the chasu pork was very nicely done! The egg was a perfect ramen egg! My husband had the spicy shoyu ramen and he said it could have used a tad bit more spice.

This place was so good I came here two weekends in a row! On a cold, rainy day this cozy and bustling restaurant truly draws you in. The restaurant was packed the first weekend I went so I sat in the bar but during the second weekend it was much easier to get a table. For appetizers I tried the chicken karaage and takoyaki. Both were amazing but the karaage was my favorite! Prob some of the best fried chicken I've ever had, it was so juicy inside. I recommend ordering the spicy mayo on the side. They had a lot of options to help you customize your ramen. I got the spicy ramen with egg and corn and it truly warmed my soul lol. The egg was perfectly boiled - don't forget to add that if your ramen doesn't come with it! I loved the texture of the noodles too, they were quite chewy and worked well with the broth. Prices were super reasonable. I can't wait to come back!

I was in the mood for some ramen in Portland after 4 days of eating almost non-stop for a friend's bachelor party. I needed something to warm me up but not overfeed me, so it was ramen. Ramen Ryowa is located close to where I was staying. The restaurant is quaint and very friendly. I was the second customer there and at the end of the meal, the restaurant was packed. I ordered the base miso ramen with a side of the gyoza. The ramen itself was excellent but the pork was way too thick which made it a little hard to chew through. It should be sliced thinner to make it more palatable. The service was perfect and friendly. I will want to come back here the next time I am in town.

Ramen Ryoma is a great lil spot in the heart of the Centric District. Maria and I were immediately greeted upon entering. Our server brought over waters quickly. He was ready to take our orders. We ordered the juicy chicken Karaage. 5 pcs for 8.98. 6 pcs Vegetable Spring Tolls $5.25. Charsui with slow cooked Pork Belly. Flavored in a special Tare sauce. $11.50. Side of Tofu $1.35. Extra soup 32 ounces for $1.65. Green Ice Tea in the can $2.85. The food came out perfectly. It was mouth burning hot. Just how I like my food. For a Wednesday night, Ramen Ryoma was hoping busy. Lots of chatter happening as we ate and talked story. It was dim lit which made for an excellent dining experience., Our server kept coming by to check if everything was okay. Just down home good customer service. Who can beat this type of food with prices that don't break your wallet. We're definitely going back soon.

Phenomenal ramen! I've heard so much about this ramen shops from lots of friends, and I wasn't disappointed at all when I went. The inside of the shop is small, intimate, and a bit homey. Service was pretty quick and very patient as my group was trying to figure out what to order. My friends and I ordered a variety of the ramen, and I love how you can customize and add-on so many different things. The portions are good, broth is very rich (without being overly salty), and noodles were delicious. Definitely one of the top ramen spots in Portland!

Whaaa! Why didn't know about Ramen Ryoma before? Working not too far away, a colleague recommended checking this place out on my lunch one day. Ever since, I've been hooked. I order and finish the entire vegetable ramen every time I go there. It's rare to find a vegetable ramen that offers vegan miso too! The staff is always friendly, attentive, and quick. Thank you for killin' it every time.

BEST RAMEN IN PORTLAND. With a super rich miso broth, it is so consistently good and hits the spot. I always go for the spicy ramen with miso base and it's perfect every time. The broth and noodles are hot, meat is juicy and tender, and the bean sprouts are never overcooked. Before their portland location, i would drive to beaverton at least twice a month for ramen! I'm glad they opened another location, one that serves karaage!! Their karaage is a must get as well as their garlic edamame. Every server is very kind, and will stop by to check in at least once, nothing crazy or over the top service wise. The shop is very cozy and well decorated for the space they have. They don't have AC, so if you're coming in summertime be warned and bring a hair tie!

My fiancé and I decided to give Ramen Ryoma a try and were pleasantly surprised! We've had ramen all over--from LA (where we're from) to NYC and even Japan--so we have pretty high expectations. Ramen Ryoma impressed us not only with its quality but also with its reasonable prices. We ordered the Tamago Mayu Ramen, which features a soft-boiled egg and black garlic oil. The egg was cooked to perfection, with a creamy yolk, and the garlic flavor was rich without being overwhelming. It struck a great balance that's not always easy to find. Overall, it was a great experience, and we'd definitely recommend it to ramen lovers looking for a delicious, well-priced bowl. We'll be back! Note: the bowl was a perfect size for me, however if you have a larger appetite, I believe you can order a larger size

What a cozy little ramen restaurant near Portland's Japanese corner. Came here for dinner because Pastini was too busy on a Monday evening and no regrets. The highlight was their chicken karaage. It was delicious and moist and the provided lemon and table side togarashi was enough to add flavor. Their miso ramen broth was also delicious. I'm taking off one star since the char shiu was overcooked and the amount of noodles felt like a lot since noodles were on the thicker side. For vegetarians, you only have one ramen option and it's interestingly more expensive than the basic meat options. My partner ordered the vegetable ramen and couldn't finish due to the broth and noodles being a little thick. I think the meat ramen options here really outshine the vegetarian one. Either way, the food was delicious and also more affordable than most ramen spots across the west coast. Would recommend if you're in the area.

Quick Summary: - Delicious broth - Noodles are springy and bouncy - Curry bowl is larger than expected, but it was perfect for us - Entered hungry, ate full - We visited on a hot season, so there was only a fan to cool us down We visited Ramen Ryoma on one of the hotter days in Portland. The restaurant didn't have air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans. For me, it gave a nostalgic ramen restaurant mood, that I enjoyed. (one of my family members claimed it was a bit too hot inside to eat ramen). We were hungry from all the walking, so we first ordered a small curry bowl and then individual ramens from different categories. The curry bowl arrived first and then the ramen bowls arrived within a few minutes. We got a good giggle with the curry bowl because despite the description that it was coming in small bowl, I would say it was medium sized. I was initially thinking of a "chawan" (dinner rice bowl) sized bowl would arrive. In the end, this was a happy surprise that it contained more portions than we thought. The curry was very good! Curry just tastes a hunk better on a hot day, perfect amount of spice for me -- who has low spice tolerance. It rejuvenated the energy I lost from walking under the sun most of the time. The ramen was my type of ramen, so good! I got the butter and corn ramen. First, the broth was great! I wanted to drink the whole bowl, not salty or thick with oil. I also love the noodles they made here, I love thick noodles! It feel it gives a good chewy texture to the meal.
